RETINA ARTIFACTS

Yannuzzi card

The Yannuzzi Card is a portable, credit -card sized modification of the Mark Amsler Grid for patients to self-monitor their central vision with horizontal and vertical viewing at reading distance. Instructions are on the reverse side of the card.  If patients noticed a change in their vision, they were advised to contact their retinal specialist for evaluation. A countless number of cards have been distributed to patients with macular disease since 1981 at no cost by the Macula Foundation Inc.  The original concept was to detect manifestations of exudative changes in the macula for prompt evaluation, and if necessary, treatment.
