The Douvas RotoExtractor

The Douvas RotoExtractor, developed by Nicholas Douvas, MD, was driven by a brushed DC motor and had oscillating rotary action somewhat less likely to wind and pull vitreous fibers than the Machemer-Parel VISC with continuous rotation. Like the VISC, the RotoExtractor was a full-function probe with infusion, suction and coaxial fiberoptic illumination.
