Original MicroVit Disposable Cutter

Shown are the original MicroVit disposable cutter, developed by Steve Charles, MD, and Carl Wang, MD, for MidLabs, and the Accurus 2500 cpm derivative, developed by Alcon laboratories. This was the first disposable cutter. It was pneumatically operated with a diaphragm. Also, the first hourglass-shaped handle, which axially constrains grip reducing grip force. This cutter was much lighter than the Ocutome and orders of magnitude lighter than the VISC or even heavier RotoExtractor.
