Head Positioning Glasses

Glasses for head positioning developed in 1996 by Marie Carole Boucher, MD, for her patients who struggled to maintain their head position along with essential daily activities, such as eating. The glasses work with prisms on the principle of internal reflectivity so that they redirect an erect and non-inverted image (vs mirror).

“I often overheard patients in the waiting room discussing who would next have the chance to use them, so I wanted to make them easily and cheaply available to patients who underwent retina surgery requiring subsequent head positioning. I thus had them manufactured through Labtician. They have been sold internationally throughout 4 continents, in small volume.” -- Marie Carole Boucher, MD
